Aftercare essentials
Protect your investment.
Use extension-safe shampoo, conditioner and treatments. Keep conditioner away from attachment points and detangle gently from ends upward.
Dry attachment areas fully, avoid excessive heat, and sleep with hair secured in a loose braid or low ponytail.

Beautiful hair,
long after you leave.
Your extensions need a little more care than natural hair because they do not receive oils from the scalp. Follow this at-home routine to protect the blend, softness and lifespan of your extensions.
Products & hydration01
Choose professional, sulphate-free care
Use professional shampoo, conditioner and treatments selected for your hair. Supermarket products can strip colour, cause dryness, tangles and breakage.
Hydration is key
- Deep condition weekly from mid-lengths to ends.
- Keep oils and treatments away from roots and attachment points.
- Use ABBY&CO the TREATMENT on damp or dry hair for smoothness, hydration and shine.
- Avoid dry shampoo on extensions and limit hairspray build-up.
Washing & drying02
Before washing
Brush thoroughly, holding the roots with one hand to avoid pulling.
Wash gently, 1–2 times a week
- Shampoo twice and massage the scalp without aggressive scrubbing.
- Condition mid-lengths to ends only; avoid beads, tapes and roots.
- Comb through gently with a wide-tooth comb or Tangle Teezer.
- If needed, wash only the top section between full washes.
Dry safely
Gently squeeze with a towel, apply leave-in oil, avoid brushing soaking-wet hair and rough dry to 70% before using a brush.
Heat, brushing & styling03
Limit heat
Extensions hold style well, so minimise hot tools. Always apply heat protectant and leave-in oil before drying, straightening or curling.
Brush daily
- Use a soft nylon or boar bristle extension brush.
- Start at the ends and work upward, row by row.
- Support the roots while brushing to reduce tension.
Protect hair overnight
Sleep with a loose top knot or braid secured with a soft scrunchie. Avoid tight daily styles and elastic ties.
Swimming, sun & maintenance04
Before swimming
Apply leave-in oil as a protective barrier. Shampoo promptly after chlorine or salt water and restore moisture.
Protect from UV
Use UV spray in the sun to reduce colour fade, dryness and damage.
Keep up with refits
Regular appointments prevent matting, protect natural hair and maintain a healthy scalp as your extensions grow away from the roots.
